Located in Boston’s most storied neighborhood, 97 Mount Vernon Street has long been home to thoughtful hospitality.

Originally part of a 1920s hotel, the space has welcomed generations of diners—from the French elegance of mid-century Au Beauchamp to the beloved Lala Rokh, a neighborhood fixture for over two decades. Today, under the eye of owner and antiques purveyor Kristen Jenkins, its legacy continues.

Inside, the restaurant feels equal parts residence and refuge, layered collected details that speak to a life rich with history and meaning. At the entrance, a pair of antique ceramic foxes stand guard like old friends, reimagined now as the restaurant’s unofficial mascots. The menu follows suit: grounded in the classics, with just the right amount of refinement. Staples are reimagined with clarity and care, from oysters and deviled eggs with caviar to short ribs and steak frites. At the bar, classic cocktails are crafted with precision, while our wine program showcases both timeless favorites and unexpected finds—everything served with an old-school attention to detail that never feels fussy.
